How it works

  1. Ask about recent quakes

    Ask in plain language, like 'have there been any major earthquakes this week?' or 'show me quakes above magnitude 6 this month'. You can set a minimum magnitude and how many days back to look.

Why not just ask a chatbot about recent earthquakes?
Because earthquakes happen continuously and a language model only knows its training snapshot, so any recent quake it describes is invented. This tool reads the real catalog for the window you ask about.
Can I filter by size and time?
Yes. Set a minimum magnitude, for example 4.5 or 6.0, and a lookback window from one to thirty days. Zeplik returns only the events that qualify, most recent first.
Can it tell me if an earthquake is coming?
No. Earthquakes cannot be reliably predicted, and Zeplik will not pretend otherwise. It reports what has already been recorded, grounded in the USGS catalog.
