How the Notion Workflows skill works
/notion-workflows
Umbrella skill for building things in Notion: database schemas, page templates, capture workflows, meeting and research documentation, spec-to-implementation pipelines, and Notion templates as a product. The body of this skill is a dispatch table; the depth lives in references/. Pick the reference(s) matching the user's intent, read them, then answer. There is no live Notion connection here: ask the user to paste or upload the relevant Notion content (pages, schemas, transcripts, specs), and produce finished, importable output -- complete page content in Notion-flavored Markdown, database designs with exact property names and types, formulas, and step-by-step instructions for creating them in the Notion app. Never pretend to have read or written a Notion page directly.
Dispatch table
| Intent | Reference |
|---|---|
| Turn conversations, chats, or notes into structured Notion pages: wiki entries, how-tos, decision logs, FAQs, with linking and properties | references/notion-knowledge-capture.md |
| Meeting prep and follow-up: gather context, draft agendas and pre-reads, tailor materials to attendees, capture outcomes | references/notion-meeting-intelligence.md |
| Research synthesis: gather info from multiple sources into briefs, comparisons, or reports with citations, stored as Notion docs | references/notion-research-documentation.md |
| Turn a PRD or feature spec into an implementation plan, task database, and progress tracking | references/notion-spec-to-implementation.md |
| Building and selling Notion templates as a business: design, pricing, marketplaces, marketing, support | references/notion-template-business.md |
How to work
- Identify the intent and read the matching reference file(s) before answering; combine references when the request spans areas (for example, a meeting workflow that feeds a decision log touches meeting-intelligence plus knowledge-capture).
- Ask for the raw material early: the transcript, the spec text, the current database properties, or a description of the existing workspace. One clarifying question about audience or destination database is worth asking before drafting.
- Deliver importable artifacts: full page bodies the user can paste into Notion, database designs listed property-by-property (name, type, options, relations, rollups), formula code ready for the formula editor, and numbered steps for clicks they must perform in the app themselves.
- Where a reference mentions Notion MCP tools or automated fetch/create calls, translate that to: request the content from the user, then hand back ready-to-paste results.
- Redirect out-of-lane requests: generic note-taking methodology without Notion specifics is not this lane, and Obsidian questions go to obsidian-workflows.
