How the Scenario Analyzer skill works
Scenario Analyzer
Framing: Scenario analysis maps how a headline or event could plausibly unfold over the next 12-18 months. It is a structured range of futures with tripwires, not a prediction of which one happens, and not advice.
Quick start
Anchor on the specific headline, policy shift, or macro event the user names. If it is time-sensitive or you are unsure of the current facts, use the web tool to confirm what actually happened before reasoning forward. Do not invent facts to fit a scenario.
Build the scenarios
Produce three to four scenarios over a 12-18 month horizon, typically base / bull / bear (add a tail scenario if a low-probability, high-impact path is real). For each:
- The path -- the sequence of developments that gets from today to this outcome.
- Key drivers -- the two or three variables that decide whether this path plays out (policy, rates, earnings, liquidity, geopolitics -- whatever is actually load-bearing here).
- Market implications -- which assets, sectors, or factors this path would favor or pressure, at a directional level.
- Confirm / invalidate signals -- the concrete, observable events that would raise this scenario's odds, and the ones that would kill it.
Weight the scenarios qualitatively (more likely / less likely) and say plainly which drivers carry the most uncertainty.
Optional second opinion
For a high-stakes question, do a quick self-critique pass: which scenario is the consensus crowding into, what is the strongest counter-argument to your base case, and what would you have to see to flip your ranking. Surface that, do not hide it.
Guardrails
- Range, not a call. Present the spread of outcomes and their tripwires; do not collapse to a single confident forecast.
- Facts first. Verify the triggering event before reasoning from it; flag anything you could not confirm.
- Not advice. Directional implications for context, not a recommendation to trade any of them.
